Why Gimel ID

In the context of new technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cell & Gene Technology (CGT), the world is facing two big challenges: How to make sure humans benefit from AI, and how to foster health equity? Gimel ID can help to cope with these two challenges. How that?

First, to make sure that AI is beneficial to humans, first, it must be possible to clearly identify humans. AI in many instances is behaving, positioning and communicating on behalf of human beings, and yes, it is acting increasingly even instead of humans. AI is potentially taking over the authority to make decisions which humans should make themselves. The border lines between instances where we are interacting with human individuals opposed to interacting with a bot are more and more diminishing. More than ever, this is why we need a reliable identification of human beings on a global scale, which can’t be manipulated. With Gimel ID, the Gimel Foundation is making a practical proposal, accordingly.

Global identifiers have been discussed before over the past years, so that the discussion is not entirely new. Therefore, approaches like the KYC, social graph analysis, Web of Trust and World ID have been evaluated. All these approaches come with weaknesses. Worldcoin, for example, raises significant data protection issues and is therefore banned in some countries.

This is why the Gimel Foundation comes up with the proprietary concept of a Gimel ID. Data protection is the top priority. We do not believe that biometric data should be handled in a way that makes the responsible regulator feel uncomfortable or leaves essential questions unanswered. On the contrary, a truly sustainable solution requires social consensus. Gimel ID and the CGTcoin associated are unique, for their technological platform, which leverages on DNA biometrics amongst others.

Second, DNA biometrics build on CGT. And CGT enables individualized medicine, which can leapfrog the way how we treat diseases and do prevention. In the context of DNA diagnostics, Gimel ID and CGTcoin associated provide a new financial network. The issuance of tokens of the new CGTcoin currency can – besides aligning the incentives of all network participants around the growth of the network - help to reduce the cost for patients, care providers and payers. In the ideal case, it can help to even offer DNA diagnostics for free. In this respect, CGTcoin can foster health equity by helping to provide DNA diagnostics to everyone.

As we suggest the Gimel ID can get us there.
